Power and the Passion

We have completed the work on the latest recording by the Dodworth Colliery MW Band.

The title of the CD ‘Power and the Passion’ is based on the internationally renowned local artist Ashley Jackson who has recently opened an exhibition of the same name in London and has generously provided the painting which is being used in the front cover design.

The CD features a number of solo items in addition to a collection of favourite concert items requested by regular followers of  the band and it will be released  in early December.

We Will Remember Them

We were the guests this week of the Band of the Royal Corps of Signals at an Armistice Day Concert and Service at the magnificent Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Northampton.

The Crusader Round at Holy Sepulchre Church has long been associated with the local military and the packed audience enjoyed a fine selection of appropriate concert items before the traditional Service of Remembrance.

This was one of the first concerts the band has undertaken since the launch of their latest CD ‘A Christmas Message’ in which the appreciative audience showed great interest.

The visit gave us the opportunity for a photograph after the concert which shows one of the band’s cornet/trumpet players Musician Jenine Simmons. To learn more about the band visit their website at www.army.mod.uk/music/corps-band/445.aspx.
